Description[]
Probably no film in the history of MGM is more celebrated than "The Wizard Of Oz." To this day the exuberant adaptation of L. Frank Baum's immortal tale remains a timeless family favorite for every generation. A tornado propels young Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland) from her Kansas farm to the enchanted land Of Oz. There she is instructed to follow a yellow brick road which will lead Dorothy Gale to the Wizard and finally home. Along the way she meets The Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), who wants a brain, a The Tin Woodman (Jack Haley), anxious for a heart and a The Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) who longs to be brave. With its perfect casting, sumptuous effects - shot in glorious Technicolor - and superb score by Harold Arlen and E.Y. ("Yip") Harburg featuring such immortal songs as "We're Off To See The Wizard" and the Oscar winning "Over The Rainbow", "The Wizard Of Oz" is Hollywood at its most brilliant best!
